 WEDNESDAY, JULY 13, 8 P.M., PARK EAST SYNAGOGUE, 163 E. 67TH ST., NYC, (between Lexington & 3rd Aves.) -

you are invited to attend a free event to proclaim:

GUSH KATIF LIVES - That is the message we deliver on this upcoming 6th anniversary of the expulsion from 21 Gush Katif/Gaza communities, and 4 northern Shomron communities in August, 2005.  Despite the fact that promises were made to the residents of Gush Katif that there would be a "solution for every settler", the majority of the Jewish refugees are still jobless and still living in temporary trailers or make-shift homes. We deplore this situation and continue to support all efforts to help the refugees rebuild their lives.

It is especially crucial on this anniversary that we affirm NEVER AGAIN will Israel turn brother against brother in destroying Jewish communities. As we hear talk of abandoning Jews living in Judea and Samaria, in exchange for meaningless promises from the PA/Hamas duo, it is especially important to recall the horrors of the 2005 expulsion.

It seems obvious that the defamation of the rabbis of Judea and Samaria is preparation for the delegitimization of the "settlers." This atmosphere of distrust is deliberately being created within Israel, so that if and when PM Netanyahu swaps land for promises, the citizenry will have been programmed to accept the betrayal of those Jews who fought so hard to reclaim the land and rebuild biblical Israel.

DROR VANUNU, representative from the displaced persons of Gush Katif, along with DAVID HA'IVRI and OSHRI DAVID from the Shomron Liaison Council, will be our featured speakers. Their talks will be followed by a Q&A period. This promises to be a very important event. Please make every effort to attend.

For those living outside the NYC area who are receiving this notice, may we suggest that you organize a comparable event in your community. Jews and Christians throughout America should be aware of the dual nature of life in Israel - while amazing and miraculous accomplishments occur which benefit Israel, America, and the entire world, a poison exists within competing elements in the government which threaten Israel's very existence. Feel free to contact AFSI with any questions or comments.

Dear Lovers of Eretz Yisroel, amv"sh

This is not merely a commemoration of the 22 beautiful Gush Katif communities razed to the ground.  Please help AFSI publicize this event!

Judea and Samaria is now under threat from those that endorse a Palestinian State.  The Gov't of Israel efficiently implemented the "Disengagement" from Gush Katif in 2005.  How can we be silent when we see them heading in this direction once again?

The gov't of Israel  recently arrested leading Rabbis, Rav Lior and Rav Yaakov Yosef, who endorse discourse based on Torah sources on matters related to grey areas when it comes to matters of Self Defense.  Many protesters of these shameful arrests of leading Rabbanim were also arrested.  Freedom of Speech is being denied to the Right Nationalist Camp especially Torah Scholars.

It is important that we come out in numbers to this AFSI event in NYC and show support  of Jewish Sovereignty in Judea and Samaria and our rights and  obligation of Self Defense.  Let us send the message, a clear message of support for the Right Nationalist Camp and  our unwillingness to tolerate delegitimization, victimization and discrimination against residents of Judea and Samaria.  The Right Nationalist Camp have proven their love of their fellow Jew above and beyond any normal natural human response.to the atrocities they have endured against them with their properties destroyed, their loved ones, literally interred from their graves, their family units uprooted and their communities displaced.. They are true and authentic models of Ahavas Chinam, baseless love between fellow Jews.

When we remember what happened in Gush Katif, we remind ourselves our obligations to protect  Jewish Sovereignty over Judea and Samaria and to support our wonderful brothers and sisters who are holding on to our birthright with their fingertips. .  .

 AFSI is one organization that has been consistently working to prevent another Gush Katif from happening in Judea and Samaria.

Please ask your friends and neighbors. Are your Jewish organizations doing anything?  When you read  or listen to the Jewish news are they publicizing the plight of Jews living in Judea and Samaria and the delegitimizations they endure?   WHY IS it only AFSI and her members THAT HAS PUBLICLY OPENED THEIR HEARTS AND MINDS TO HEAR THE PAIN OF THEIR FELLOW JEW IN JUDEA AND SAMARIA and ACT on it?

I haven't seen major condemnations of the arrests of the Rabbanim other than coming from the Right Nationalist Camp. Has there even been much news about it other than from the Nationalist Camp?

AL TAAMOD AL DAM REIACHA.  Why was all the property of the residents of Gush KATIF Hefker? What is the purpose of learning all the Gemaras on Property rights and then be silent when 10,000 people are made homeless and their source of Parnassa cruelly taken away.  Where is the major Jewish Organizations voice in this regard?

 WILL YOU PLEASE PUBLICIZE THIS AFSI EVENT IN Print and/or in Radio Media SO THAT PEOPLE WILL KNOW ABOUT IT?  THIS DESERVES FREE PUBLICITY!

 IF YOU REALLY WANT TO FEEL THE PAIN OF YOUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN ERETZ YISROEL COME TO THIS EVENT and meet with leaders of Judea and Samaria.  David HaIvri and Oshri David of the Shomron Liason   Council will be there.  I am sure AFSI WOULDNT MIND SOME COMPETITION. Please don't say your are too busy, but if you really are, they are always available to meet with you by email or by telephone, by skype and perhaps even in person.  Any endorsement and twinning with their communities is greatly appreciated!

 Meet with Dror Vanunu the sweetest guy from Gush Katif whose organization is there to pick up the remnants for the shattered communities of Gush Katif.

Become involved and become active.  Don't allow JUDEA AND SAMARIA TO share the fate of  GUSH KATIF Chas VeCHalila!

HUNTING DOWN RABBIS UNDER THE GUISE OF LAW & ORDER

by Adina Kutnicki

Rabbi Lior being carried through the street after being interrogated by the police.

Another dangerous phenomenon is developing in Israel. In addition to Israeli nationalists being arrested when attacked by Arabs, rabbis are now being arrested for what would normally be considered basic freedoms within any democracy.

For the 'crime' of endorsing (issuing a 'haskama'), a leading Jewish legal treatise calledTorat HaMelech, the King's Torah, Rabbi Dov Lior, Chief Rabbi of Hebron-Kiryat Arba, was stopped on the highway and arrested last week while driving into Jerusalem.

44 were arrested in protests after Rabbi Lior and Rabbi Yosef were taken into custody.

In addition to rushing to Rav Lior's legal aid,HONENU also defended 29 of his supporters arrested that day for civil disobedience.

A few days later, a clear undemocratic pattern became evident. Rabbi Yaakov Yosef was also apprehended for his approbation of Torat HaMelech. Once again, hundreds protested and, HONENUwas called to assist the 15 participants who were arrested in the aftermath.

Torat HaMelech, the epicenter of the office of the State Prosecutor's outrage deals with the issue of wartime, specifically, when is it permissible under Jewish law to shed the blood of non-Jews belonging to the enemy population? Alternatively, the present IDF code attributed toTel Aviv University Professor Asa Kasher has led to the death of hundreds of IDF soldiers. Sadly, Kasher's "morality code" has never been the subject of serious public debate.

Many showed support for the rabbis over the last week. Another large gathering took place across from the Supreme Court building on Monday. See video. Aside from the blatant violation of the rabbis' basic freedom of speech, it is patently obvious that acceptable norms within a democratic society are no longer upheld in Israel. Thus, another pressing question becomes-why are rabbis arrested, yet leftist academics, cultural icons and Islamic leaders allowed to voice their highly inciting opinions, albeit without fear of arrest?

Re: Brainstorming from Robin re: Open Letter to Caroline Glick from Paul Eidelberg.

bs"d

Dear Readers.  Paul's open letter to Caroline Glick follow my comments

Dear Prof. Eidelberg, amv"sh

 Here are my comments.

Your suggested political program  to Caroline Glick are great and I would endorse almost all of them for the existing State of Israel.  I would like to suggest going  a step further.

Create a prototype Torah autonomy in Judea and Samaria with the consent and support of the State of Israel This prototype government will consist of  a Nasi, a president/prime minister that would serve as executive branch,  a  Sanhedrin similar to the Knesset and Shoftim a Judicial Branch governed by  Halacha based on Torah Shebichtav and Torah Shebaal Peh.  The Halacha would address all aspects of a governed society, monetary, economic, social, political etc.

The Sanhedrin  will authorize declarations of War against our enemies of Judea and Samaria.

 There needs to be an armed military force, an army/militia.

 Shotrim, policemen, working in sync with the State of Israel to protect Judea and Samaria and  to enforce the Law

(Lehavdil Sharia Law governs Islamic countries in a totalitarian manner supposedly based on the Koran).

 Torah Shebichtav is the common denominator and Torah Shebaal Peh allows for diversity and Eilu VeEilu Divrei Elokim Chaim, all differences of opinions are accepted as valid Torah viewpoints based on different halachic interpretations all based on Torah.

This is precisely what Haman was against.

Then Haman said to King Achashveros, "There is a certain people scattered abroad and dispersed among the peoples in all the provinces of your realm. Their laws (Dalet-Tav) are different from every other people's and they do not observe the king's laws; therefore it is not befitting the king to tolerate them." (Esther 3:8)

The main difference between the Torah Autonomy and the existing State of Israel annexing Judea and Samaria  is that Hebraic Law based on Torah Shebichtav and Torah Shebeal Peh would transplant the existing law rather than merely upgrade it to reflect a Jewish Character.

Being that a religious gov't (based on Das - Daled Tav) is revolutionary and there are bound to be many bugs, flaws,   that need to be ironed out, it makes sense to do this small scale, without coercion of a population ignorant, fearful, hostile and resistant to a religious, Torah run society.

 With time and patience the people will Beezrat Hashem appreciate that the ways of Torah are sweet and pleasant and the Nations of the World will say Am Chachom VeNavon.

May we be zocheh to see the fulfillment of the prophetic vision of Isaiah regarding the Nations of the World: "And they shall prostrate themselves before the Lord on the holy mountain in Jerusalem".

As for Point 14, Let me add that there are imposters in the UN who masquerade as human rights defenders just as 70 wolves "protect" the lamb.

The Vision of the League of Nations, the predecessor to the UN had lofty ideals.

Is the United Nations so thoroughly corrupt and rotted to its core so that we have no option but to leave? I believe that  with a strong Israel based on Torah there is hope to expel the evil and transform the UN  to the vision depicted on the Isaiah Wall inscribed in 1975 with the famous quotation from Isaiah 2:4: "They shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more."

Dear Ms. Glick:
Some time ago I "nominated" you--so to speak--for prime minister of Israel.
Now I would like to suggest a political program for the purpose.
It might include the following:

(1) abrogation of Oslo, hence Israeli sovereignty over Judea and Samariai:
(2) direct personal election of MKs;
(3) separation of powers;
(4) limitations on Judicial Review (I have some details for this purpose);
(5) assertion of the Jewish essence of the state as its paramount principle:
(6) a loyalty oath--I've formulated one that conforms to classical democracy;
(7) a system of conversion that increases the Jewish character of the state;
(8) tougher tax-evasion laws;
(9) tougher campaign-finance legislation;
(10) education reform (I have some details in mind);
(11) enfranchisement of Israelis abroad if we have a presidential system of govt;
(12) a committee to
to issue reports on a candidate's financial assets, education, and public service experience.
(13) A Declaratory Statement: no negotiations with military dictatorships;
(14) Resignation from the UN

Bless you for all your good work.

Twinning with Judea and Samaria, Preventing another Holocaust LIlui Nishmas the Torah Giants Rav Koppelman, zt"l, Rav Chaim Stein Zt"l, Rav Michel Lefkowitz Zt"l, and for continue Arichus Yamim for Rav Eliashiv shlita

bs"d

These past weeks Am Yisroel is preoccupied with the loss of a leadership that personified Ahavas Yisroel that knew no bounds.

 What better way to honor their memory with acts of Chizuk and support to Achainu Beis Yisroel in Yehudah and Shomron and by claiming Temple Mount as a Jewish Heritage Site.

Surely we don't want the tables turned on us whereby Hashem allows our enemies the freedom to do as they wish unopposed while we are preoccupied with our loss.  (When the Miraglim came to Eretz Yisroel, Hashem caused a magefa, pestilence,  whereby the peoples were busy burying their dead(.  This is not the case today. Our beloved  leaders reached Arichus Yamim, with long and productive lives.   What better tribute to these spiritual Giants than first addressing Pikuach Nefesh concerns of Acheinu Beis Yisroel in Eretz Yisroel in Yehudah and Shomron.

We wouldn't want the Heavenly Court to hold our distractions of these recent losses and our preoccupation with these losses  as instrumental in the collective societal  sin of Al Taamod Al Dam Reiacha.

Therefore, let us occupy our energies to helping our Brethren who are surrounded and under daily attack from enemies as well as delegitimized from within and from without.

OPERATION AIT LAASOT - TWINNING WiTH YEHUDAH AND SHOMRON

This is a campaign to Twin with settlements and organizations in Yehuda and Shomron.  We are asking all Rabbanim to join us in this campaign and endorse it.  This campaign is in order to be Mezakeh each and every Jew to claim a Chelek of Eretz Yisroel and be Mechazek those who are holding on to our precious land with their fingertips.  Living in Eretz Yisroel is not a prerequisite to join this campaign.  If you are a member of Am Yisroel, if you are Jewish, this is an opportunity  to claim your precious inheritance by partnering with the settlers  and in a personal way do your part  not to allow it to be given or sold for a pot of lentils or empty promises of peace to those that wish our destruction. .

 If you are a righteous Gentile,  thank you for joining us as well.  It is well known among Righteous Gentiles that  what is good for Israel is good for humanity and surely those that pray for Israel, desire her prosperity and security and act accordingly will be blessed in turn.

The choices for Twinning are endless but I would like to suggest some of my favorites:  Of course please feel free to choose any settlement and any institution to your liking.
  • Building an Institutional Kitchen for "Chevron Hospitality"
Rivka Rybak writes:  URGENT REQUEST!

To: Mrs. Rivka Rybak

Re: Request of Assistance in Building an Institutional Kitchen for "Chevron Hospitality"

כ"ב ניסן תשע"א    April 26, 2011

Introduction:

3900 years ago, Abraham and Sarah inaugurated in Chevron the Jewish tradition of hospitality, with every guest being graciously received, and offered food and lodging. More than 20 years ago, we stepped into those large shoes and we're trying to continue that long-standing tradition in the holy city of Chevron.

1) "Chevron Hospitality" is engaged all year long in charitable works At the Tomb of the Patriarchs, in Chevron in particular, and in the Kiryat Arba area in general.

      a. Every day, lunch is served, free of charge, at the Tomb of the Patriarchs, to anyone hungry.

      b. Every Shabbat, three Shabbat meals are served, for free, to whomever is hungry at the Tomb of the Patriarchs. Some participants are guests with no place to eat, and some are needy local residents.

      c. Additionally, on average, every Shabbat we host about 150 people, including meals, at cost.

      d. From time to time, we prepare bar and bat mitzvahs for children whose parents cannot cover the expense, and we would like to expand our operations in this realm.

      e. We cook for families in need, for example, where the mother is ill, for single-parent homes, children with illnesses, the poor, etc.

      f. We cook for weddings, britot, and other joyous occasions, for anyone interested in holding their simcha at Me'arat HaMachpela in Chevron, and all this at rock-bottom prices.

      g. On Shabbat Chayei Sarah, we cook for and feed thousands of people staying in Chevron, for free or at a nominal fee. Likewise, we hold a kiddush for 10,000 people.

2) However, the kitchen we work out of today, in the Avraham Avinu Neighborhood in Chevron, is very small (20 sq. m.), very crowded, and does not meet the basic standards of the Health Ministry, such that we cannot continue using it.

For quite a long while now, Kiryat Arba Chevron has needed a modern, new, institutional kitchen that can supply hundreds to thousands of meals per day, something that could help other institutions in the area.

3) After searching for a long time, we have found a 200 sq. m. structure in Kiryat Arba, in an excellent, convenient location, where we can set up an institutional kitchen to serve all the needs mentioned above.

4) The advantages of this kitchen are manifold:

      a. It would meet Health Ministry standards.

      b. We could produce many meals much faster.

      c. It would be convenient for both the workers and needy families.

      d. This would render producing and cooking the meals significantly cheaper.

      e. The more we lower prices and increase the quantity of events, the larger a community of Jews we will succeed in bonding with the Tomb of the Patriarchs and Chevron.

      f. Along the same lines, we will be able to increase our charitable works for families in need, as described in (1) above (d-f).

      g. The kitchen will provide a livelihood to ten local families.

      h. We'll be able to serve the armed forces as well, who in the past have approached us seeking to purchase ready meals from us, since they had encountered difficulties in this sphere.

      i. The kitchen will be able to cook hot meals at cost for pupils who have a long day but are not recognized by the Education Ministry.

5) Let us stress that in order to fund the charitable activities of "Chevron Hospitality", which will hopefully include hundreds of meals, daily, at no charge, both for the Tomb of the Patriarchs and for needy families, we are interested in setting up a catering business which will operate out of this kitchen, and whose profits will finance our charitable works.

6) Following extensive research, and in light of the experience gained over years, we see that the cost of establishing a kitchen, according to the directives of the health Ministry, is about $235,000 ($200,000 plus VAT). Over the years, we've succeeded in enlisting $115,000 for this project, but we still lack the second half.

7) Attached are the kitchen blueprints, and itemized expenditures.

8) We are approaching you with a request for urgent assistance in establishing this kitchen, lest we miss out on this special opportunity.

Signing off with deep gratitude, and the blessings of the Patriarchs,

Yisrael Bramson, Director   Ben-Zion Vataro, Chairman

Memorializing rather than preventing a Holocaust. An open letter to Mainstream Jewish News and Rabbanim

bs"d

First let me begin with Chatasi, Avisi Pashati.  I too have sinned.

In the News somewhere:   Obama and Clinton are now accepting the the Muslim Brotherhood as moderate  in Egypt

Rav Lior being arrested for  endorsing the one book that addresses how to fight the enemy  that threatens us according to Halacha.

Obama on the TV live, praise New York's decision to legalize gay marriage,

What is the majority of front page news and headlines and news items  and major news for Frum Jewish News?  The loss of Rav Michel Lefkowitz ztl age 97, Rav Chaim Stein zt'l age 99 and the successful heart surgery b"'h  of Rav Eliashiv, Posek HaDor who is close to 100 if not above and his Catholic surgeon,  Dr. Daniel Clair who operated on Rav Eliashiv.  Last week the focus was on another Senior Rosh Yeshiva Rav Yitzchok Dov Koppelman ztz"l.

Mainstream Jewish News will focus on memorializing the dead, albeit Tzadikkim,  and Kedoshim of Holocausts of years gone by, and at times when especially gruesome, the Kedoshim of today,  but not  address or prevent a Holocaust in the making.

This week I called up some very well known GEDOILIM and said that a Rav who is connected to Rabbanei Yesha is in Brooklyn can you please meet wth him and the reply is I never heard of him.  I am too busy.  When a representative of the Shomron comes to Brooklyn and we call up our Gedoilim or Askanim, there is no time to meet with them, or there is a passing of the buck. Call back in 2 weeks.  We are busy with a Dinner or whatever.  Settlers of Yehuda and Shomron are forced to rely on righteous Gentiles for their support because the Jews are closing their doors.  When a Rav comes from Eretz Yisroel who wishes to address the Chillul Hashem on Har Habayit and our rights to Eretz Yisroel confronting Obamas accusation that we are the Occupiers, it is not a politically correct topic even though there is a Mitzva of Es Makdashi Tirau. . When there is news and evidence that  Jews in Judea and Samaria  are in danger  because of the policies of the IDF , it is not news worthy.  When we are being warned that Mosques are taking over East Jerusalem and surrounding areas unchecked, we don't want to receive the messenger.  Nobody is really interested in such news.

What has been the consequences of our inaction?  Islamic terror has transplanted itself from Eretz Yisroel to America.  They are in the process of infiltrating the highest echelons of the United States of America. Europe has been taken over.

Justice in AMerica?  Need we look further than Jonathan Pollard and Rubashkin? When unfair,  irrational judgements and sentences are at the mercy of a judge who is empowered don't you realize that eventually it will trickle down to a stupid court case not related to "politics" who will hit the "guilty" with whatever sentences they decide upon?  A case in point recently  in Boro Park  a chassidishe younger man was found guilty of  stealing the  expensive camera from an elderly Jews and perhaps assaulting him after being provoked was hit with 5 million dollar bail by the judge..

Finally a  Safer is written that addresses immediate concerns of Picuach Nefesh.  Israel is surrounded by enemies clearly  out for OUR destruction.  There are many grey areas that warrant halachic discussion.  Rabbanim endorse the Sefer for addressing these life threatening matters.  Those involved are shamefully disgraced and delegitimized. The Yeshiva is cut funding and a Rav who endorsed this halachic discussion is arrested and all this is not reported in the frum News.  Is there any wonder why Israel and Jews are delegitimized by the world.when they act in self defense?

There are brave and courageous individuals and organizations, (Honeni, defending settlers who are arrested on trumped up charges for attacking Palestinians sometimes after being forced to defend themselves, Shurat Hadin fighting legal battles stopping the flotillas, Women in Green planting in Netzer and AFSI directed by Helen Freedman who go on Chizuk Missions to Eretz Yisroel to Judea and Samaria and those expelled from Gush Katif,  fighting this tsunami of terror on our own. Hamonei Am is too  busy eulogizing their dead they don't give them proper coverage or any coverage in the mainstream Jewish News or time to meet with them.

Surely this diversion of attention of matters concerning Pikuach Nefesh will only serve to  help  the Prosecution in Shamayim on all the Gedoilim zt"l  who have recently passed away awaiting judgement in Shamayim.

 Again, Chatasi, Avisi, Pashati and I know very well that I too am guilty.  Shabbat Shalom Umevorach!
