Current Events at Oz veGa'on

This Friday, Nov. 7, 2014 at 9:00 AM, journalist Hagai Huberman will speak
at Oz veGaon on the subject of Current Events and Hityashvut
(Settlement).

Huberman began as a writer for the newspaper Hatsofe . When Hatsofe
joined with its weekly parallel, Makor Rishon, Huberman was appointed
to be the military writer for the newspaper.

Huberman served for many years as a writer on matters concerning Yesha
(Hebrew acronym for Judea, Samaria and Gaza) in the newspaper Hatsofe.
Since 2009 he has been serving as editor for the religious weekly
"Matsav Haruach" and also serves as a political and military writer
for the ultra-Orthodox weekly "Bakehila" (In the community) and in
"Basheva".

In 2010 Huberman won the Aminach prize for his research on the history
of religious Zionist settlement, for his book "Shorashim Bakholot"
(Roots in the Sands) and "Kaneged kol Hasikuim" (Against All Odds).

Huberman is married and the father of five children. He lives today in Elkana.

In 2008 Huberman wrote an article in "Hatsofe" in which he warned that
the Shdema military camp, between Har Homa in Jerusalem and Tekoa in
Gush Etzion was in danger of being transferred to the Palestinian
Authority. This article prompted Women in Green to act, to become
organized and to prevent the fall of Shdema into enemy hands. Thank
G-d, after years of intensive activity, Shdema has returned to Jewish
hands. The IDF is present 24/7. Cultural events are held there as well
as family celebrations.
